WE'RE AWAY!

Hi everyone,
Well the journey has commenced and we are now onto our third day. I wanted to start writing straight away but by the time we had set up at the end of each day I was sooo tired that once my head hit the pillow it was goodnight Sonia... So here goes and hope you join us. I'll try to make it interesting and use lots of pics.

Nearly time to go
So here I am using the lovely afternoon light here in Kalbarri to see with and to get pen to paper (so to speak) before falling asleep at the end of the day. Our first day did not quite start as planned. We had hoped for an early (about 6am) start but we soon realized the night before that this would not be possible with so much still to do.. So John decided it better to wait until after 9 to miss the traffic. Little Rylee was there to say goodbye and as you can see was very sad to see us go. So after many cuddles it was time to jump in and wave Mundijong goodbye.
Rylee says ta ta nanna
and bye bye Lizzy

The trip out of Perth was great and we had green lights at most of the traffic lights (something that has never happened before). The van towed beautifully with no huge hiccups except that the door flew open just before Dongarra and snapped the locking latch. Also a bit of a dent but not too bad. Could certainly have been worse. We made a few pit stops on the way to stretch the legs and I'm pleased to say there are some very pretty wildflowers out now.

The caravan park in Dongarra is right on the water's edge and so makes for some beautiful sunsets so they told us. But that night the sun was nowhere to be seen as cloud covered the sky. No matter though, the water was calm and after a brisk? walk we were soon enjoying the evening air and peace and quiet.

A brisk walk along the foreshore..
The view from the caravan park.
The waves breaking on the shore had something to do with me crashing for the night I'm sure. Almost like a lullaby.
"Larry" the Lobster
And so next morning after coffee on the terrace we waved "Larry" the lobster farewell and hit the road on our way to Kalbarri.

The Beginning

Good old Pajero

Its a week tomorrow before we leave on our holidays.  Preparations are well underway and John has almost rebuilt and refitted the caravan. From repainting the card table to creating extra beds and spaces to fit everything. The van is a 2000 Jayco Freedom and with the previous trial run we are quite happy with it but the real proof will be in the next 2 months. The airbags are in and the towing side of things is now sorted (Thank goodness).

Home for 2 months
We will start off travelling up to Kalbarri then on to Coral bay for the first week. We'll get to Katherine then to Ayers Rock, SA, and accross to Melbourne. Depending on time Tassie is also
on the list.  So hope you all follow us around on our adventure.
Our mate, Christine, has given us tips on where to go and the places that are a must see. So here we go.... Hope you follow us and keep us informed of whats going on in your life while we are away. Till next time.......x Son John n Lizzy
